This series began with an assignment from Annie Leibovitz to photograph the person who opened up most naturally before my camera. I chose my father, transforming our kitchen into a studio shaped by his favorite records and lifelong love of rock 'n' roll. When Annie saw the opening portrait, she said, 'This first shot, wow. I could see it in Vogue.' Those words have stayed with me ever since.
