Second Chances, in depth, is about discarded objects that regain emotional meaning through people. At first it was centered around fast fashion and waste, then grew into a more human story about workers, customers, and the community at Big Reuse. Through interviews, photographs, and audio recordings, this piece examines how reuse is not only environmental, it's also emotional. Where forgotten items, memories, and even chance through connection, repair, and shared memories. I spent a month photographing Big Reuse with the same 35 mm film camera I found there, that I fixed. Allowing the documentary to become part of the same cycle of reuse and second chances.
